Selena Gomez is an internationally famous actress and singer. Her Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place is one of her best-loved projects. Her real name is Selena Marie Gomez. She was born July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez were the parents of Selena. Selena's mother was 16 an old when she was born. When she was nine, she got her very first gig on stage after being cast in the role of Gianna in Barney and her Friends. Through this, she joined the ranks of youngsters who've had the opportunity to interact with the humanoid purple dinosaur which has grown to become well-known in the world of science fiction. Selena worked on several episodes of season 7 and 8 from 2001 between 2001 and 2003. Fun fact: Selena was not the only one who sang in Barney and the Friends during this period; Demi Lovato also was part of the cast of the show. Selena Gomez, after she left the TV series, auditioned unsuccessfully for several movies and television shows. There was a small role as a character in Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3D Game Over) in 2003 and one more part in the film as Julie in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire. She also was given the part of Emily Grace Garcia in the 2006 Brain Zapped program for which she composed a song.
