Ina-Garten

Ina Garden is an American book author, and has earned Emmy Awards. She hosts the most popular Food Network series, Barefoot Contessa. It premiered in 2002. It will continue to run for another 27 seasons. Ina began her career working in the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget and other policy reports. In the beginning, she was awed by being stimulated by the intellectual aspect of the job, but then lost interest. Instead she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty restaurant. The store was very successful over the course of 18 years until she decided to shut it down. She then began her first cookbook. Numerous different cookbooks and magazines came later. Meanwhile Her Food Network show was also a success. She also sells a range of cooking and food items as well as storage containers and equipment. Ina did not go to a cookery school nor did she work in restaurants. She's completely self-taught. She is known for her simple approach to cooking as well as her easy approach to entertainment. She is known for her easy recipes like Skillet Grilled Lemon Chicken Macaroni and Cheese made with beef Bourguignon, and Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
